Janet was recognised for her many years of dedicated and compassionate support of sufferers of Multiple Sclerosis in the area, both raising money to provide assistance and also acting as a friend, confidante and supportive ally.

The presentation was made by Helen Clarke and Jo Karaolis and included both a certificate and a pot plant. The Community Caring Awards are made possible by a grant from Ku-ring-gai Council. Janet’s nominator, a former president of the group, described her as ‘the kindest, most empathetic person I have ever known. She acts, while others are still thinking about the problem’ and went on to say ‘despite the fact that she is aged in her 80’s, she is tireless in her support. If she is not actively physically involved, she will be chatting on the phone, delivering books & magazines, or providing support in any way possible!’
