On Thursday the 1st August we celebrated the official charter of the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Rotaract Club. The club for 18-30 year olds, celebrated the launch of their club at the Blue Gum Hotel, surrounded by Rotarians, fellow Rotaracters, friends and family.

Of special mention, present on the night were District 9685 District Governor Kalma McLellan, Past District Governor Susan Wakefield and husband John, District Governor Elect David Clark, District 9670 District Governor Graeme Hooper and wife Sue, District 9670 Past District Governor Greg Bevan and wife Lorraine as well as Rotarians and Rotaracters from Wahroonga, St Ives, Castle Hill, Rutherford-Telarah.
 
The 13 charter members of the club are Joshua, Tiana, Bill, Charlotte, Justin, Emily, Audrey, Rosie, Phoebe, Dave, Harry, Sianne and Elise.
 
The Rotaract club also took the charter night as an opportunity to raise $1022 for their club and the Black Dog Institute, supporting mental health research and education, an area they are passionate about supporting. The Rotaractors are looking forward to becoming more active in the local community and finding ways to support mental health and youth in our local area.
