Carol Johnson has brought to the club a fund-raising venture which should appeal to the hands-on Rotarians. Her company, Chilton Real Estate, is a community sponsor (KYDS and others being beneficiaries) and any funds that the company raises is distributed to them via Wahroonga Rotary. She says:
A client has moved into a retirement home and needs to sell her property. She can’t afford to tidy up her garden, and is unable to do it herself. We have had people helping her out with clearing out the house and now need to get into the garden.
My company is donating 10% of the commission from the sale of her house to Rotary, which will in turn forward it the beneficiaries. It could be quite substantial .
The logistics are:
Where: 8 Wahroonga Ave, Wahroonga
When: Saturday June 22.Time: 9am to around 2pm
Task: Weeding, pruning, raking leaves, clearing shrubbery
Please bring as much of your own equipment as you can.
From time to time, we have entire household contents that we need to give away. If anyone has contacts or suggestions it would be much appreciated.
Ron Wainberg will have a list at Wednesday’s meeting and will be seeking starters.
