Every year our Rotary Club of Wahroonga raises funds to help two of the special schools in the local area. These are St. Lucy''s School and St. Edmund''s College in Wahroonga.  Our Club has had a long-term relationship with these two schools helping with bursaries so that a child has a chance to be educated every year.

Each of these schools hosts a breakfast for our club so we get a chance to connect with the teachers and students. The interaction between students, teachers and Principals at each school is wonderful. Both schools take a holistic approach to each child and the care is outstanding.

Some families don’t have the opportunity to be able to have their children attend these very special schools. Having the Rotary Club of Wahroonga’s bursaries available enables another family to have their child enroll and grow in the school. The decision making is done by the schools and the bursaries are granted to those who need it most.

Our club starts selling tickets around the local community in November each year at a several events, Wahroonga Food and Wine festival, Wahroonga Christmas Fair and the local shopping areas until mid-December. Tickets are only $2.00, and the prizes are amazing including a car as first prize.

The two fully funded bursaries we have supported for several years were added to the Youth committee portfolio and are overseen by the Youth Committee. The organiser for the Raffle is Holroyd Rotary Club.

If you get the opportunity to come to one of the breakfast meetings and hear how these schools are run and hear how well the children benefit from what we do by providing the bursaries you will be truly humbled.

Another great Rotary Club of Wahroonga project.
